Erich Bucher to become new CEO
Erich Bucher will take over the management of Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein on 1 January 2019 and the existing CEO Patrick Hilty will become the chairman of the Board of Directors.
Erich Bucher is a qualified public accountant and has more than 30 years of experience in the field of auditing and advisory services. He is recognised as an audit expert by the Swiss Federal Audit Oversight Authority (FAOA) and has a good network of connections in the local and international market.
As a member of the management, Erich Bucher has been working for Grant Thornton since 2001 and heads the Audit Industry, Services, Institutions service line in Switzerland. Over the recent years, he has actively collaborated in the strategic development of the company. As a Professional Standards Partner, he is also responsible for the quality assurance of the audit services provided. Besides auditing privately owned companies, he provides audit services to international companies in particular. He is considered a proven expert in the auditing of financial statements based on local and international auditing and accounting standards.
The partners’ meeting of Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein selected Erich Bucher for this position as he is seen as an ideal candidate for pressing ahead the “Growing Beyond – Ambition 21” growth strategy of Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein on account of his track record.
