Change of CEO at Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein

On 1 January 2026, Egon Hutter will take over the role of CEO from Erich Bucher, who is leaving the company for retirement. As part of this change, three other partners, all of whom have been successfully working for the company for many years, will also be joining the management team.

Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein is announcing that Egon Hutter will take over the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on 1 January 2026. He succeeds Erich Bucher, who has led the company with foresight and great commitment for many years. Erich Bucher is leaving the company for retirement. 

Egon Hutter has been a key member of the organisation since Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein was founded in 2014. As Head of Audit Financial Services, member of the Executive Board and Chairman of the Board of Directors, he has contributed significantly to the strategic development and sustainable success of the company. His comprehensive industry knowledge and many years of management experience make him the ideal candidate for the CEO position.

In addition to the change of CEO on 1 January 2026, three new partners will be joining the Executive Board: Mathias Eggenberger, Partner and Head of Audit Financial Services in Schaan, Fabian Schmid, Partner and Head of Regulatory & Compliance FS in Zurich, and Moritz Herbst, Partner of Audit Industries and Head of the Geneva office, will be joining the management team in future.
