Taulant Avdija will join the firm as a partner on 1 July 2026 and establish the Regulatory & Compliance Financial Services department in Geneva. He is a proven and exceptionally well-connected expert in the field of regulatory services for banks, asset managers, trustees and other financial intermediaries. The expanded service offering strengthens Grant Thornton’s Financial Services practice and underlines its consistent growth strategy.
Taulant Avdija is a qualified lawyer and holds a Master’s degree in Business Law from the University of Lausanne. In addition, he holds a CAS in in Digital Regulation and a CAS in Financial Market Regulation.
He brings with him a long-standing professional career. Taulant Avdija was previously a managing partner of the Regulatory & Compliance division of a leading audit and advisory firm. He is very active in training and helps promote financial regulations in Switzerland by regularly speaking at numerous institutions. He is recognized for his ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into concrete operational solutions for financial institutions.
Taulant Avdija joins Grant Thornton’s established Regulatory & Compliance Financial Services team in Zurich. In his new role, he will be responsible for further developing and structuring the offering for advisory services in Geneva, thereby specifically expanding Grant Thornton’s market position in Western Switzerland within the financial services sector. The CEO, Egon Hutter, is convinced that Taulant Avdija and his future team will provide substantial support for the firm’s strategic growth objectives. His in-depth industry knowledge, expertise in financial market regulation and his strong network in French-speaking Switzerland make him the ideal candidate for this newly created position.
