He has more than 15 years of experience in financial services tax, including eight years in the group tax department of an internationally active financial services provider. His extensive in-house background allows him to combine in-depth technical expertise with a thorough understanding of the operational and regulatory challenges clients face.
His advisory practice focuses on Swiss and international tax matters for financial institutions, in particular withholding tax, stamp duties, VAT and corporate taxation. He assists clients with complex tax issues and with ongoing compliance requirements, including tax audits, negotiations with tax authorities and tax rulings. He also advises on tax-neutral intra-group reorganisations and supports tax due diligence on acquisitions and disposals.
A particular focus of his work is international transparency and reporting regimes such as QI, FATCA, CRS, CARF and DAC6. He helps clients establish efficient governance, control and reporting processes and classify group entities, funds and investment vehicles for FATCA, CRS and CARF purposes. He also supports Responsible Officers with their IRS certifications of effective internal controls and performs QI periodic reviews, health checks and risk assessments.
A further focus is tax function transformation through AI-enabled solutions, including Microsoft Copilot agents, to optimize processes, knowledge management and compliance.
