Professional experience
Before joining Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein, Taulant Avdija worked for several years as a Partner at an audit and consulting firm in French-speaking Switzerland. He specialises in Swiss financial market law, with a particular focus on AMLA, FinIA, FinSA and CISA, and advises banks, asset managers, trustees and fintech players. He has also developed tailored outsourcing services in the areas of compliance and risk management for asset managers and trustees. He has led various investigation mandates for FINMA and self-regulatory organisations and regularly acts as a trainer for financial institutions and professional associations.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Taulant Avdija holds a Bachelor of Law and a Master of Law from the University of Lausanne and was admitted to the bar in the Canton of Vaud. He also holds a CAS in Digital Finance Law and a CAS in Financial Regulation from the University of Geneva. He is furthermore an Affiliate Member of STEP.
