GRANT THORNTON SWITZERLAND/LIECHTENSTEIN

Grant Thornton has a new home in the heart of Zurich

As a result of the growth strategy of Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein the company will grow to around 200 employees as per 1 January 2019, which requires larger premises. The firm will open its doors at a new location in the heart of Zurich: Claridenstrasse 35.

Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein is continuing its expansion course. Over the years, it became apparent that a new office building was needed to satisfy the demand for additional space and provide a modern and centrally located work environment. The firm found what it was searching for at Claridenstrasse 35: The older office building owned by the Balzan Foundation was demolished down to the foundations and then rebuilt. The project lasted around 3½ years in total.

The renowned Gigon/Guyer architectural office was able to be won for the realisation of the construction project. The two architects Gigon and Guyer made a name for themselves early on – originally with various museum buildings. The most recent notable buildings in the area of Zurich include the construction of new and conversion of existing buildings on the Löwenbräu site, the Prime Tower in Zurich and the Haus Lagerstrasse on Europallee in Zurich.

“We are very proud to operate at a prime location with our firm Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein. The move to this new building is another big step forward in our company’s history as we are convinced that this will enable us to increase our brand awareness even further. The office building offers our customers a suitable environment and our employees state-of-the-art infrastructure at the highest level”, comments Patrick Hilty, CEO of Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein on the move to Claridenstrasse.
