Yves Gmür appointed new Head of Tax Liechtenstein/Eastern Switzerland at Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein
Yves Gmür joins April 1, 2023 as a partner and Head of the tax department in Liechtenstein. With the existing tax team in Schaan and Yves Gmür in charge, the services provided to the tax sector will continue to be expanded – the demand for advisory services in the area of taxation remains high.
Yves Gmür grew up in Maienfeld and completed his schooling in the region. In 2008 he successfully completed his economics degree at the University of Zurich and subsequently graduated as a qualified auditor in 2014. After a course at the Swiss Tax Conference, in 2021 he decided to take the MAS FH in Swiss and International Taxation/LL.M. Swiss and International Taxation advanced training, which he will complete in April 2023.
Professionally, he has proved himself in various positions in the financial sector and at one of the Big Four – with many years spent working in Liechtenstein, before working at the Canton of Zurich Tax Office as a tax auditor between 2016 and 2018. His professional focus has been on taxation ever since. Most recently, Yves Gmür has worked as a tax advisor and on the management team at a well-known, medium-sized auditing and consultancy company.
Both Erich Bucher, CEO of Grant Thornton Switzerland/Liechtenstein and Dr Stephan Baumann, Head of Tax Switzerland welcome Yves Gmür to the firm. Yves Gmür will be able to use his tax consulting experience and his knowledge of the local conditions, as well as his good links in Lichtenstein/Eastern Switzerland to expand the firm’s tax operations significantly.
